Origin

I began learning to tell stories when I was just a few years old.
When I was a child, my father would send me alone into the woods with assignments.
Collect a leaf from different trees in the area. Look for animal tracks in the dirt. Pay attention to how the landscape shifted as spring moved to summer and then autumn.
He was a biology teacher, and during long summers renovating an old cottage in rural Ontario, these small missions became my education. I returned each day with pockets full of leaves, questions, and observations—learning, without realizing it, how to look closely at the world.
That instinct—to search for patterns and meaning beneath the surface, and the joy curiosity could bring—eventually led me toward documentary storytelling.
I studied biology and film and later completed a master’s degree in international communications. Since then, I’ve spent more than fifteen years working across documentary film and television, digital media, and immersive storytelling—developing projects that translate complex subjects into emotionally resonant narratives.
I’ve contributed to award-winning documentaries and series for Prime Video, Paramount+, Discovery Channel, History Channel, and CBC, with work premiering at TIFF, SXSW, and Hot Docs. Recent credits include The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal, Degrassi: Whatever It Takes, Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks, Evil by Design, and History Erased.

I’m always searching for the emotional core that allows a story to connect on a fundamental level — because the most meaningful stories are the ones that make us see ourselves in them.
My background in science communication and research continues to shape how I approach nonfiction storytelling. Early in my career, I worked in health and education research focused on adolescent psychology, body image, and science curriculum development while simultaneously building a career in documentary production. That dual perspective—analytical and creative—still informs my process today.
Alongside traditional documentary work, I’ve also explored storytelling through emerging technologies, including co-creating Tree Tap Adventure, an augmented reality game inspired by childhood experiences in nature and designed to encourage outdoor exploration and environmental curiosity through play.
